Gamingnext have also whipped up their review of the DOOM 3 Xbox version port, rating it 85/100 overall. Here's a snippet:
"One thing that wasn’t included on the PC version that came out last summer was the co-op campaign where you can go through game with one of your boys either sitting next to you or on Xbox Live. The game is much easier that way but there are more demons to destroy, which is a good thing anyway right? There’s also the deathmatch game that you can catch on Xbox Live, but it’s really your run of the mill multi-player game that’s basically played out and tired by now; especially since there really isn’t an arsenal of weapons or interesting maps to choose from." Nothing really new or anything we haven't heard before but it's worth a read I suppose.

Business Week Online have thrown up their review of the DOOM 3 Xbox version.
"By far the best addition in the Xbox version is cooperative multiplayer, a feature not available on the PC.
Not only is it just plain fun to play with a buddy over Xbox Live, it's somehow reassuring to know I'll never have to traipse through monster-filled chambers alone again. This feature alone makes it worth owning both versions of the game."

Macologist have coherently tied together their interview with Glenda Adams of Aspry Media regarding the DOOM 3 Mac OS X port and its OpenGL rendering paths, their past ported games, their reasons for porting DOOM 3 to the Mac OS X, and so on. Here's a quick snoop from it:
"a) Do you envision Mac Doom 3 performance on equivalent hardware as PC coming to be on par ?
I think in the long term you will see Doom 3 performance on OS X meet and possibly even exceed the performance of the PC. Future OS X updates and Doom 3 updates will continue to make the game perform better on high end Macs." For the rest of the details of the nearly endless number of Questions & Answers, head on over and give the whole interview a read.

ContactMusic have spat out their review of the DOOM 3 Xbox version, rating it an overall score of 8.5/10.0 (also keep in mind that the review is slightly biased). Here's a snippet from the review:
"The detailed levels plus the excellent animation of your foes does make for some beautiful looking game-play. It is like watching a blockbuster movie at times. There is a multi-player mode available with death-match style play offered over system link or Xbox Live to give the game a bit more longevity. If you are already a Doom convert and have an Xbox then this isn't going to disappoint you."

WarCry have whipped up their own review of RoE, rating it an overall, outrageous and astonishingly low 6.5/10.0 average score. Here's a quick snoop from the review:
"There are a few small changes: most obvious is the addition of three new "weapons," although only one actually serves as a firearm. First is the not-so-creatively named "Artifact," which looks like nothing so much as a large heart with a car door handle stuck to it; powered by the souls of the dead humans you find throughout the game, this little doodad serves as a power-up rune you can carry with you, giving you the abilities of super-speed, invulnerability, and vastly increased damage. Next is the Grabber, a nearly-useless little tool with more than a passing resemblance to the Half-Life 2 Gravity Gun. And finally, the one we've all been waiting for, the double-barrelled shotgun - twice the fun, twice the mess, this baby will see you through it all."

Yet another review of RoE has been brought up to the net, this time the folks over at AVault have their review of RoE up, scoring it 4/5 stars overall.
"The Doom series has never been known for the most sophisticated artificial intelligence of the computer-controlled enemies, for creatures are not supposed to be tactical geniuses. As it happens, though, the AI in this latest release is not shabby, as for example when you use the grabber to throw fireballs back at monsters, they often duck or jump around to avoid being hit. At one point a Hellknight even knows enough to destroy specifically a nearby body so you cannot draw power from it for your heart-shaped artifact. So while you do not see any real subtlety in the attack patterns of your foes, they do differ markedly across creatures, and what you experience is quite satisfying for a title of this sort."

Gamers Hell have chimed up their review of DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil, scoring it an overall 8.1/10.0 rating. Here's a bit from the review:
"Resurrection of Evil improved a lot upon the previous release of Doom 3. Besides the artifact, the other new weapons include the double barrel shotgun and the gravity cannon. The double barrel shotgun may only be able to carry two rounds at a time, but it packs with one hell of a punch. Don’t expect it to be too deadly from long ranges, but if you’re within a reasonable distance almost anything will succumb to its tremendous force. Having a highly interactive environment is essential to a first person shooter nowadays, so id Software introduced their gravity cannon to show off how your surroundings can be affected. Similar to the gravity gun in Half Life 2, this gravity cannon can lift up objects such as crates, explosive barrels, and even corpses. While it isn’t used too much to help your exploration, it can be a very powerful weapon if used correctly. By taking hold of incoming projectiles from enemies, you can launch them back at high velocities and make them pay for messing with you. Some of the smaller enemies can even be sucked in by the gun’s force, which will kill them instantly. Upgrading the arsenal is a must for any expansion set, and Resurrection of Evil manages to do so effectively." Make sure to check out the whole review as it's a superb read.

Game Daily Biz had a few words with Marty Stratton (Director of business development) and Kevin Cloud (Co-owner) of id Software regarding their role in the [creative] development of the 30 second DOOM 3 Xbox version port TV spot. Here's an attention grabbing snippet from the article:"Having a game's developer so involved with its marketing helps ensure that the best footage possible ends up in the commercial. We have an intimate knowledge of our product that a publisher or ad agency just can't get,"

Firstly, over at Universal Pictures they've updated their DOOM movie section noting that it's delayed from their originally pencilled August 5th, 2005 release date to October 21st, 2005. For reasons unknown, currently.
And also, there appears to be another DOOM movie related project, which astonishingly has been in the works for some time now; Masters of DOOM, the book based on John Carmack and Romero's experience in the founding of id Software and its major game franchise, such as DOOM and Quake. Make sure to check out the Computer Games Magazine Online article for the announcement and more details on the matter.
